In July, Mark, the oldest of our three sons, married Carolina whose family hails from Chile. The wedding ceremony took place, on a perfect Saturday afternoon, in a small historic church in Oakville, followed by a reception at the local sailing club. While this was, in most ways, a traditional wedding the presence of a dozen guests from Chile, Brazil and Argentina made it very special. As these guests started to arrive one week before, and stayed as long as two weeks after the wedding, the whole period was an extended party. There was no best man and no bridal party and as a meaningful gift, the couple gave every guest a package of ‘Fair Trade’ gourmet coffee grown in the mountains of Colombia.
What’s important about this coffee is that it not only helps farmers keep their independence but additionally some of the proceeds are distributed, by a not-for-profit organization, to help other less fortunate people in Latin America. As more people choose to give a little boost to the disadvantaged in developing countries by making consumer choices like buying “Fair Trade” coffee, I would like to give you a tasty and cost free opportunity to participate. (See below)
I am also ready to share with you more about the book “Stop Sitting on Your Assets”, about which I have written before. I am exited about it because in this rapidly changing world, where lifetime employment is a thing of the past, it is becoming increasingly difficult for the average person to pay off their mortgage. The book demonstrates how it is possible to safely leverage the equity trapped in your home and to transform it into a source of wealth and security. The book is a visionary roadmap that mortgage borrowers can use to avoid a long term debt trap. I am partnering with the author, Marian Snow, to produce a Canadian edition of the book and Christopher and I have been busy designing our new website to introduce it to our clients.
When you go to our new website: www.TridacMortgages.com, you will find the book prominently displayed in a version that you can open, plus an overview of chapters and subtitles. It is unique in that you can read the entire first three chapters, while listening simultaneously to the audio recording. It is a book that ‘reads itself’.
The title of the second chapter is “The Coffee Crisis”. Yes, you read it correctly, and you will want to read more about this intriguing title. I invite you to ‘sample read the book’ which gives me your email address so we can stay in touch to pass on additional debt strategy information from time to time.
I am confident that you will find the sample reading interesting because it pays to be well informed concerning financial choices in this complex and rapidly changing world. In order that you can share information about the book with your friends, I have created a page with a pre-formatted email text. All you need to do is insert their email addresses.
You will receive one pound of freshly ground and packaged “Fair Trade” gourmet coffee as our thanks when you have referred your first three friends. As you pass on valuable information, you will also be reaching out to help poor coffee farmers directly – and it won’t cost you a penny. Enjoy the reading.
